Golf and Grounds Superintendent

Job Title: Golf & Grounds Superintendent
Supervisor: General Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Union Local 252

Summary
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in preserving grounds including: Parks, Campground, Marina and Nine Hole Executive Golf Course

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, two years minimum related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and implement all aspects of daily operations focusing on healthy turf and vegetation while prioritizing efforts to preserve the beauty, value, usability and playability of all Riviera assets under Superintendents purview.
Direct, schedule, assist and train staff in the safe and efficient use of specialized mechanized and non-mechanized grounds and landscaping equipment
Efficiently Operate and maintain irrigation systems with a focus on water conservation.
Manage the prudent safe use and storage of chemical and organic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides
Attend workshops/seminars to maintain required licensing/certifications.
Interact with County, State and Federal regulatory agencies to ensure operational compliance and permitting requirements.
Administrative duties including departmental planning and goals, annual budgets, ordering and purchasing supplies and equipment, P&L variance, payroll, timekeeping, employee reviews and maintaining records.
Routine maintenance of specialized equipment and tools.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Broad knowledge of general principles of Horticulture and Botany with specific knowledge of turf management
Knowledge of native plant species and how to manage their robust health
Knowledge of chemical and organic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides
Mathematical skills in calculating geometric proportions such as area, square footage, volume, cubic feet, etc.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and Irrigation software.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, governmental regulations, operating manuals
Ability to write coherent reports, correspondence, and directions
Clearly communicate verbally or in writing presentations to other managers, committee members, trustees, members, and the public.

Certificate, Licenses, Registrations
Current WA State Driver’s License, Insurable though RCC auto insurance, Washington Commercial Pesticide Applicators License or the ability to obtain within 90 days. Current or ability to obtain within 90 days membership in Laborers Local 252 Union. Any other certificates of licensing required by county, state, or federal mandate.

Physical demands
Representative of what is physically required to perform the Essential Duties and Responsibilities mostly in an outdoor environment in all kinds of weather conditions. Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Work Environment
Employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and mechanical moving parts and occasional exposure to airborne particles and fumes. Noise level is moderate provided proper hearing protection is worn.

Lakeshore Restaurant – Line Cook

The Riviera Lakeshore Restaurant is now accepting applications for motivated food service workers. Part time and seasonal positions are available. Applicants must have open flexibility, to include weekends, holidays and must be 16 years old. Experience preferred but not required.
